Ok, I might be really late to post something about Microsoft Windows Vista now, but who cares? There are way too much news about Vista these days on the net, so I just as well come late at the back of my own opinions here. Oh, disclaim first, DO NOT bash my site if you find it’s offensive, I mean, come on, get mature…

It was a few days since the biggest news exposed this planet. USD199.95 to USD399.95. Well, still the same old Microsoft style… Complicated! Microsoft Windows Vista Basic, Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium, Microsoft Windows Vista Business, and Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate. Always 2 version at once and I don’t know what’s the differences between both editions there, well, maybe the boot up screen with “Home Edition” and “Professional” that matter, or whatever… But this time it has 4 editions… Erm… Wow?

I searched at YouTube with the keyword “Vista” and it listed a lot of videos (Of course, or what do you think YouTube is?) the thing that fascinated me weren’t the videos, but the comments of all YouTube users, which is immature and stupid for me, because everyone only has one point to go… Microsoft vs Apple. And this topic could go for years or maybe century? Windows users claimed Windows is the best and listed them out, Mac users claimed Mac is the best and listed them out and most of all, they (Mac users) list what Windows copied from Apple. This was another hot topic for years too.

So, since everyone likes to talk about Microsoft and Apple, it makes me come to a point of making both of them clearer to myself. As I’m long time Windows user and beginner of Mac user. Well, it might be strange to answer my friends that I’m using Mac because of the applications’ capability. I’m on graphic side, so I did a lot of graphic which most normal PC can’t afford to run it (12″ x 16″ 300dpi in Photoshop, imagine it with Windows). So I get my first MacBook, but I turned to my girl friend’s laptop very often too

There is my chart for both of them from MY point of view. Firstly, undeniable that Apple Mac always has the sleek design that everyone are looking for. Genie effect is one of the best Mac OS came out of, I like it a lot but I didn’t use it, cause I need a speedy and low resources laptop for my high resources works Windows design is very… Down to earth, I like it too honestly, as least it’s easy on eyes too but not eye-candy though…

User interface is something important as computer user will be using it for years. Windows has the most friendly user interface so far. Everything you need to find is so easy, especially they take out the “My Documents” folder. For Mac OS, I look/explore for “My Document” for a day and I finally got it. Or maybe I’m just too dumb, but isn’t Mac commercial told me that I will be liking it as it’s simple to use?

Usability is one of the important part for some computer users. Like me, I like to explore new hardwares, new stuffs… In Windows, I need to install one by one of them, printer, webcam, modem, graphic, sound, utilities softwares and on and on. In Mac, they have everything built right in, which they claimed to be “It just works!”, but I know that there are a lot of hard disk spaces had been taken for this pharse Windows can do it too, if they produce hardwares too. In fact, Mac can do so is because they produce their own hardwares…

My favourite - Softwares. Very often I downloaded many or few freeware softwares to test it out and see what I can use it for future. In Windows, I almost test all my satisfaction softwares, as a matter of fact, people tend to create softwares for Windows. But in Mac, I have very limited software to go for, especially freeware softwares.. Very limited…

Tasking the computer. Very often my favourite stuff changed, from web graphic, to web design, to movie making to softwares inspecting… Due to the limited software I had for Mac, that’s why the rate is there

Awareness? Hm… Honestly, Apple need more advertising here. Believe it or not, some of my friends never seen an Apple computer before and he is 20 years old. With this kind of awareness I don’t think Apple can ever beat down Windows… As far as I know until now, I never see any Apple related products advertised here before, but Windows did. That is also one of the reason why 90%+ of the market are Windows, cause they don’t choose, but Apple choose…
