Trash On Desktop
So, some new switchers can’t get use of the Trash on dock, they want it to be at the desktop. Well, I’m the one of it too but now I’m used to Command + Delete more. Anyway, there is way yo get Trash on the desktop without any application help.
First, you’ll have to create a new folder, and from the new folder create alias…
Delete the original folder first then rename the folder, you can only rename the folder after you delete the folder. “Get Info” for the alias, you’ll see a button titled “Select New Original…”, click on it…
After clicking the “Select New Original…” button, press Command+Shift+G, the “Go to the folder:” will come out. Write this…
Must be exact the same one “/” in front and “.” before “Trash”.
Done! The alias is now the Trash, you can drag file to the folder to delete. But if you’re looking for something more like a trash can, “Get Info” the original Trash on the dock and the alias, copy and paste.
