Few months ago, I hooked up with this old friend who I lose contact for ages. Now that we got each other contact information, and getting a little closer like last time, we (Or maybe more to him) created this weblog – LimtehOnline.com
He was wondering if it is possible to make money from the weblog without writing any paid post. Well, the weblog is in Chinese, I don’t think any paid posting service allow any other language than English to post for them. So we headed off to think another alternative way of making money from the weblog. Though it’s a bit tough, but we do think there’s a way. These are what we planned to do it…
1, Community instead of commerce.
First he was thinking about selling some branded stuff online. Due to the new comer, I don’t think it’s the best way to monetize the weblog this way, so we go for the community instead. Because by this, there will be a returning visitors. By making it community, we created a forum and registration. Soon there will be a RSS blog update on the front page.
2, Content and comment
I insist to get some quality post about politic. Because 1, he is studying politic related subject (Master program) and 2, it’s the hottest topic at the moment. Beside, writing on hottest topic, commenting on the related weblogs are compulsory to get attention and traffic.
Well, this weblog was just live a month ago, still a lot to pick up. Which also one thing I could learn from and apply it through my office learning. Good timing
