Here come another competitor to compete with Macbook Air. The Toshiba Portege R500
Now here are the list that you might be interested to compare both of them…
As you can see, you’re getting a smaller package, both lighter and smaller, but giving a bit of processing power. For many the on-board DVD drive will be a big selling point, as it can be really inconvenient to either carry around an optical drive, or go without. Nowadays, laptop market is like weight benches, the longer period they appear the smaller they are. If you’re in the market for a new laptop, and the ultra-portable form factor suits you, 2008 is going to be an interesting year!
I keep checking the software update from time to time hoping… 1, An update that fix the screen flickering problem.
Recently it keep happening back on my Macbook again, although it has been sometimes that it doesn’t happen B ut it’s annoying you know? 2, USB ports giving me a headache.
My mouse doesn’t seems to work so perfect nowadays too. After wake up my Macbook from sleep mode, the mouse red LED light underneath it gone! I have to re-plugin my mouse again. 3, Airport doesn’t work like charm anymore.
To tell you the truth, it’s been quite a while my Airport doesn’t work well, especially when we just changed a new wireless modem. I like to use wireless compare to ethernet which messing up with the Macbook left sidebar Well, I used only the adapter, the mouse and a speaker, any edition to the sidebar cause a mess! It doesn’t matter how much engraved plaques trophies has Apple win now, it’s about the software quality!
So… Where is Apple update coming? Anyway, it’s might be that the launching of Leopard is the death of Tiger
I accidently found that some Steve Jobs fan created this little video…
It’s all about the favorite quote by Steve Jobs. It’s interesting that from young until all the wrinkles came out, he is still using those few quote Seriosuly he need some natural acne treatments on his forehead.
Come across with a very interesting article at ComputerWorld about Five reasons why Vista beat Mac OSx, the five reasons are: 1, Vista runs more software
Obviously, if Vista do another few more upgrade But it’s truth that everyone who use Mac has the difficulty on finding the right software, instead of using the same software as Vista, Mac users tend to look for alternative software that run on Mac machine.
2, Vista is safer
I got no comment on this one. I don’t know about you, but since I’m with Windows XP for a shit long time, I didn’t get any virus/spyware from the internet, instead I got them from friend’s thumb drive.
3, It’s the money, stupid
Correct, with the design and cult/community that Apple builded, it’s undeniable that Apple tried to do their business on certain target only. I mean, my Macbook cost me a sky high RM4400 when I can get a better spec with RM3500 on the time I purchase my Macbook, it’s almost RM1000 more than any other laptop on the market.
4, The Mac is closed; Vista is open
Yeap, like the quote on previous post. Mac don’t like their product to leak out to any other third party. And because Vista is open, that’s why they tend to look into the grey area of Vista agreement and attack that part by letting people to install Vista on their expensive machine when people can actually get a machine that is much more affordable.
So, wanted to get a cheaper Mac when you can’t afford the high-cost-yet-beautiful Macbook pro? No problem, Psystar giving you a chance to have a touch on Hackintosh, built-in ready to go Apple’s Mac Mini is completely stripped but it is still expensive though. Psystar Open Mac included these spec:
2.2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo CPU
250 GB Hard Drive (7200 RPM)
2 GB DDR2 667 RAM
Intel GMA 950 integrated graphics
DVD+/-R Optical Drive
4 USB ports
Which is almost the same like every Mac available on the market now with only USD399! Whoa, dare they telling the world about they’re hacking Macintosh OS into a normal PC eh? Mac OSX agreement do have this statement:
You agree not to install, use or run the Apple Software on any non-Apple-labeled computer, or to enable others to do so.
But nice guy care not! Sure they still have the best bedding sets on their room before Apple legal sue them down Let’s see what will go after this, as I’m curious about insanelymac.com where they taught people how to install Mac OSX Leopard into a normal PC, see!
