So we all know that placing a security camera at home or office or shop is always a good idea to prevent something unwanted to happen, especially stealing. How do we solve the web, WordPress in particular?

Look for a good host

A good hosting provider will always make sure it is hard for hacker to break into their server, which has your share in there. I personally recommend WPWebHost for those who are running WordPress, as they are specialist in WordPress hosting. All the technical spec are according to run WordPress well enough.

Better installation

One thing people might forgot when they install WordPress manually is the wp-config.php API from https://api.wordpress.org/secret-key/1.1.

In wp-config.php, find:

define(‘AUTH_KEY’, ‘put your unique phrase here’);
define(‘SECURE_AUTH_KEY’, ‘put your unique phrase here’);
define(‘LOGGED_IN_KEY’, ‘put your unique phrase here’);
define(‘NONCE_KEY’, ‘put your unique phrase here’);

Then, go to: https://api.wordpress.org/secret-key/1.1

Replace the whole code provided on the site.

Change the login username

By default, WordPress installation give “admin” as the default admin username. To change it, you need to know how to login to phpmyadmin.

Browse to your WordPress database, you’ll see something like this:

Click on it to browse, and you shall be on a page that list everything about users:

Click on edit, and you shall be able to change your login username.

Instead of using “admin“, it is recommended to use something else than your name too.

Well, if you’re installing from cPanel, there is no need of all the hassle

With all the topic about bloggers and earning online. I come across a few articles and hired a coach for my business. This is an online business which, I just launched months back with my wife and hopefully can get a grow from it. With all the time we spend on the business, we finally take the step to spend some money for a starter.

Like getting Philadelphia jobs, a portal/web is essential. As an online door for potential customers.

But what makes up the percentage of traffic are the social media. People started to go for social media for review and comment instead. Sites like Facebook, Twitter and YouTube are most visited for a product/service review.

However, as a newbie to social media, I have no idea how to… Construct a good copy line for my services.

After a few coaching session, I find out that we are too hurry to the business. We tend to take the saver move by hoping to get customers from one site and place them on another site. After a few analysed with my wife/partner, the site become a showcase instead of service provider. That is the biggest problem.

The coaching give us the chance to run through head to toe again. By starting off with target audience, services and gaining traffic, which is good. The money worth it all But wasted it too. As previously we did joined a training about all these, I know it’s stupid, but still worth it

Most entertainment centers are now has a built-in online store, readily to sell their products. Which is good. By sitting at home using your computer and buy at the same time.

I like how iTunes and its store joined together seamlessly and quickly on purchasing.

Nowadays, a lot of e-commerce are coming out from this small town where I located now. It sound like a good thing for me as a web designer, but not exactly.

Firstly, they all using the all same script from China, namely ECShop and host by some reseller giving a very competitive price per year.

Secondly, there is no modification from the script that require too much forms to fill just to checkout and pay. Each payment made are separately, meaning you’ll have to keep on key in credit card, pay and off and then repeat all over again.

The good thing about iTunes is, they securely saved your information in a secure data and retrieve it when needed. All you need to do is just click on buying and download the product.

User friendliness has been the top priority for web designers nowadays. I myself are working on a system with a client, who also like forms and all others longer processing time. I cut it short and explained a few times before he can really accept the fact that user friendliness is as important as front desk.

Until today, I have yet to receive any online store locally, a shame… But good thing is, I am already learning and applying into the next project, period!
