IE9 Preview

As I mentioned earlier, Microsoft is giving an IE9 test drive of their latest development of IE9.

Well, I got an email from a client telling me something is wrong in IE9 Preview. I was shocked that some how, some users are so keen about IE9 development progress.

In all unwillingness, I downloaded and installed the piece of software, hoping that it will work much better. Well, it did :)

IE9 Preview developer tool

Put away the crash that happen so often (it is a beta preview after all), the developer tools is definitely an improvement on IE. Especially it works much better than Google Chrome, seriously!

Server, Web app and task

Few months back, I got a call from a client (who is also a friend). He is looking for an online printing business. Things like printing business cards, vouchers, promotional umbrellas and etc. Well, I did not charge as much as I should or usually do, looking at the angle that he is, after all, a friend.

Server

Now, since I’m a web designer in this one, I outsourced the back-end and come back to front-end this few weeks. We are heading to the finishing though, the biggest problem now is… VPS – Virtual Private Server.

I proposed a Dedicated Server before, however, due to the budget, they choose to go with VPS. However, the question is this: How to control a VPS?

As far as I am clear with is that, there is option to install Ubuntu server, which I am familiar working with. What I am troubling to see is, how do I taking the full control over the server itself…

Microsoft on the move, fast lane

Just when most people thought Microsoft should be invited to luxury baby shower invitations, they are announcing their speed, especially the cloud computing.

Cloud computing

Recently Windows 7 team blog announced that Windows 7 had sold more than 90 million copies, and now cloud computing is the “all in” for Steve Ballmer and its Microsoft team.

It seems to me like Microsoft is taking it step, after the success of Windows 7. I love Windows 7 for its stability and the speed, period! I am not into cloud computing at the moment, I probably don’t mind a lot about it :P Well, until that one day…

Of Google Buzz and how I hate it

Google BuzzI’m pretty sure you know all the hip about Google Buzz. But what exactly is Google Buzz?

Well, I am not sure too. However, I do sense some “Twitter” in Google :)

Let me just keep thing short by story line.

Google thought that it is time to let all consumer to use a light-weight yet fast netbook, so they jumped into the Operating System field and thinking to kill off Linux first than Mac OSX (because they are the easiest one if compare to the 80% market share). All of the sudden, they know that they are lacking some more important – Activity online. Which is why Google has Google Wave to kill off Facebook with their status update and friend list. Maybe, the R&D told them that Twitter actually raising and has more than 4 billions tweets every month, and they goes “Why not a Twitter?“. The easiest way out is to create Google Buzz and built-in with Gmail which lots of consumers will open a tab specially for their mail.

Google buzz listing

Of course that is not the best sleeping pills for Google and all the employees in there. Here are what I dislike about Google Buzz.

That is Twitter update

Twitter update, it is happening so users tweet. Make it real-time, not batch it once in a while, and… And, are you nut? Sending me an email telling me Google have batched the updates?

2 inboxes?

So I’ll have to check 2 inboxes now? One is the mail inbox and another one is the buzzing-bizzing-bin? I would like to use iGoogle too, but the Gmail widget is now working too well. Maybe, improve and make sure everything works well first?

It is every way in my buzz… Inbox (?)

Cut short the entry, especially those who place their blog RSS. Make it works like Google Reader!

I seriously started to have doubt of those big company this days…

New shinning toy

While most people are getting their iPad, iPhone or anything as their toys, I recently just find the enjoyment in developing a WordPress theme framework :)
WordPress theme framework
The more I’m thinking about how to make WordPress more function, the more options I’m adding on it.

Code is poetry

Like WordPress main site mentioned, the code, from CSS to HTML then now, I’m taking JQuery and PHP at the same times. It’s like Friday everyday.

I have been a year I use a framework to speed up my theme development :) How about you? Did you use any framework???
