If you not knowing it yet, Windows 7 actually has a master control panel built-in somewhere. Video below shows you how to enable the almightly GodMode in Windows 7!
Can’t see the text? Why not check out Wikipedia for the whole explaination?
Unlike deadbolt locks, this so-called GodMode actually is everything in Windows 7, but placing into a place, for easy finding and sorting.
Though I have enabled it myself, but I find myself not opening it, since I already know where to go for each setting. As a normal Windows users, I think much security, account setting and etc are not necessary for me to setup.
Searching for some information / tips / tricks for Windows 7? Well, just did some research finding this few days
After a year of Windows 7 user, I would say, this is one good operating system, like Windows XP SP3. However, Windows 7 still taking much memory and resources and cause heat on my laptop like how my Macbook heat problem. Win 7 up, Mac OS X down in market share wars we see how Windows 7 a success of Windows Vista
I always keen on making sure my laptop and desktop runs well, and run fast, like a new machine. Be it a computer or laptop, from time to time, you need to check them, and make sure they runs alright and smoothly. Unlike nuphedragen reviews, computer doesn’t need much technical knowledge or some diploma.
Delete System Restore
First, delete the System Restore. It may sound stupid for some, but really it taking too much space for nothing. If your computer running well yesterday, by all mean, delete the rest of the backup. Since Windows XP, Windows has System Restore to automatically backup your system everytime you install an application, deleting them will leave only yesterday’s backup. So it is fine, if your computer running well yesterday.
Cleaning the cache and all
Clean thoroughly! This is the harder part, and normally user depending on third party software. I personally recommend CCleaner. I’ve been using it for years and it still keep updating and running well even in Windows 7 Oh, it’s a freeware, don’t worry. This little thing clean almost every possible aspect in Windows, even broken or empty registries!
Arrange the files
Alright, this is one of the most headache process, for some. Since Windows 98, I’ve been doing defragmentation from time to time, normally 6 months once. But it took too much time if you ever do that. I normally use Auslogic BootSpeed, a shareware cost USD49.95. It worth the money than any other I’ve tried. However, there is this free version of disk defrag for download, which works pretty well too.
Interesting mod. Let’s say Intel bring too much possibilities to Operating Systems world. From running Windows in a Macintoch machine to what it got now. AMD, come on! I trusted you and wanted to get one of you soon
Let’s see what I got within the past 4 month of Windows 7 users.
Software capability
I ran almost all the needed software without a problem. Currently installed:
Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator/Flash Pro CS3
Adobe After Effect CS4
CCleaner
Auslogic speed boost pack
Mozilla Firefox/Thunderbird
Google Chrome/Pinyin input/Picasa 3
WAMP
Microsoft Office 2007
Skype
Dropbox
IE9 Preview/IETester
Not sure about games though. But I’m pretty sure it fit most Windows XP and Windows Vista game though.
System stability
Unless a serious lag or there isn’t a problem with it. Start up has been improved after a little tweak in msconfig. Running way faster than Windows XP with C2D 2GHz, 3GB RAM only.
Features
Taskbar started to get familiar after a few months down the road. It did save a lot of space, but still, the bug there is the active icon, which always lighting up and sometimes, even the windows choser came out and can’t turn off.
Window arrangement (Or whatever it name is) is also one of the favourite feature. Though I hardly use it
I would of course give a try on the next operating system if Microsoft ever come out. This improvement shows that Microsoft is competitive enough but just lazy. Until tyhe fire burnt on the butt only they move, which may result a late reply as well.
Now that Ubuntu and Mac has been closely running behind to get some share in the market. Let’s see how Microsoft going to come out next
