Art of a website

So, you created a site/blog. You wanted to give your visitors an information about you or your product. Everybody doing the same thing, it’s like buying a PC, you gotta choose from Dell, HP, Asus, Acer, Lenovo and all the etc. That’s why, your site/blog have to be stand out from the crowd, like Dell did recently. In order to make your site/blog to stand out, color is the main factor, then only come to navigation, lastly, the design (Background? Icons? Graphic wise?). So here are my list again :P

1, Stunning main page.
Well, if you have a site/blog without an introduction page, worry no more, header it is. First impression is important, that’s also the reason why I changed the whole structure, design and color of this blog, as I’m changing the content as well. If it’s about Halloween invitations, let it be wild, but remember a punkin. You need to make someone like your whole site/blog art eventually the content become something interesting if there’s a twist.

2, Inviting colors.
Now, I’m not talking about full of color. You need to learn how to combine color. Advise, try not to follow the art class theory, it just not work. However, colors also define a branding imagine of a site/blog. For example, black, you’ll think about ghost, scary and etc. Although this may seems to be too surface, but it does count.

3, Design, design and design.
It doesn’t need to be full of graphics and icons. Some webmasters like to put lots of clipart they found online and place them all over the site. What I’m saying is a proper design. One header, one content side, one side navigation and one footer, job done! From these structures, try to implement something eyes candy. Catch all the attention of the visitor.

4, Content it is.
Well, I have to be honest. I like humor content. My observation on sites and blogs around the internet, only humor has the traffic. Don’t think so? Try yourself then. You have to know how to deliver an information by humor. I’m not saying those formal content is dull, but just for the sack of people coming back again, since you might update them after sometimes.

Like always, those are just my point of view. However, if you want to gain more traffic on your site, I think you should always check if there’s any enhancement that you can do on the site/blog (Picture maybe?). Done my writing today! See you again soon :D

Importance of META tag

Meta Tags are HTML tags that provide information to the search engines about your site. Search engines have recognized that site owners to use this resource to control their positioning and descriptions in search engine results. You have created your web pages and have now identified your keywords. You can create your meta tag easily using – Meta Tag Generator.
Search engine search meta tag
As you see from the above screen shot, google actually search the meta tag that content the keyword “OS Ground”. Search engines are like memory cards, they store all the meta tag of all sites in their memory. Meta tags are great significance as they boost the overall performance of the site. They are useful in enhancing the placement of your site in various Search engines such as Yahoo, Google, and MSN thereby increasing the traffic to your site. But of course it has to depend on your keyword as well.

How search engine love your blog

There are many techniques to increasing traffic to your blog. Among them are search engine optimization (SEO) techniques. Many SEO strategies that you will find on the internet are severely outdated and by using them, you will actually be hurting your search engine ranking instead of helping it. There are only a few left which is still working well for most websites and blogs. Keywords and Link popularity. Believe it or not, social bookmarking sites were created and getting famous one by one is all because of both of them. Think it’s not working? Think again.

Things about Keyword Content. When the concept of keyword content first came out, most web owners stuffed their web pages with keywords and it worked. It was long ago though, unlike bloggers today that write so many paid post with keyword like moth traps or whatsoever. These keywords will only help the site that linked to the keyword, but for your blog, it’s not helping at all. However, due to the spamming keywords used, search engines started to filter out the spamming keyword, so over using keyword on your blog/site will not help.
Keywords are important, but it is also important to use them correctly.

Incoming Links. Trading links with other blog/site (reciprocal links) used to be a successful SEO for link popularity. However, it doesn’t do so much good anymore. The search engines actually looking for quality links that aren’t reciprocal. Now thinking why online advertising is such a success nowadays? Either you do a good advertisement or write a good content to attract people to link you themselves without reciprocal link.

I myself having problem about SEO too, because I’m using too much keyword and writing too much paid post. A year ago, Google started to filter out all the blogs that write paid post and sell link space. So there’s no PR on many blogs nowadays, but hey, advertisers look for traffic as well ;)

Let’s start blogging

So, you wanted to blog? Be it blogging for your own, blogging for a niche topic or blogging for business. To make it look and sound professional, there’s always steps to go for. Let me see what I can dig out from my previous experiences.

Point 1 – Choose your blogging platform
There are so many blogging script out there. But only 2 are widely used, which are WordPress and Blogger. Don’t worry, both of them are free ;)

Point 2 – What you want to write about?
This is the hardest point when you wanted to start on writing about anything, even if you know your niche content. However, to make sure the blog would run like professional for search engine (Forget about visitors for a while), look for the top 100 keywords of the day/month/year whichever you can find. After all, visitors are the one who type in the keywords aren’t them?

Point 3 – What your reader what
You can just write whatever you want. That is easy. But blogging as a professional blogging is not fun as you thought. The key here is to compete with other bloggers to get as many readers as possible. Unique content is a gold mine.

After all these steps, I’m starting to blog right away :D I haven’t touch how to advertise your blogs and make money etc just yet. When I compile every information in my mind and I’ll post it up, soon there won’t be any need of mortgage lenders since people are all starting to blog :D

Reasons to start business blogging

Once before my friend who has a business asked me about new idea to implement on his business. So I told him about blogging, he as a blogger who thought that it was wasting his time (Obviously he thought he is wasting time blogging. Tell you more later). However, my understanding of blogging is different though, as internet users keep growing day by day, this is how blogging could help on his (Or maybe, your) business.

1. Easy Publishing Tool
Type your post for the day. Add some hyperlinks or images with the click of your mouse. Hit the “publish” button. You’ve just updated your blog with new information, and it’s live on the Internet. It’s that easy. New stock, latest sales etc, everything can be an entry.

2. Search Engine Visibility
Once you started a blog, it will automatically ranked in search engine, although it’s not in a click of eyes, but it does happen at one point. And if you’re using some famous blogging platform like WordPress, ranking in searching engine is much faster than any other.

3. Potential for Conversation
Most blogging platform come with a comment feature. At the bottom of each post, readers can leave comments. So instead of the one-way communication of a traditional website (Where I talk and you listen), you now have a two-way conversation taking place. You can probably see the business-building potential of this.

4. Return Visits
Blogging programs make it easy for people to stay in touch. For example, your visitors / readers can simply subscribe to your blog’s syndication feed to receive future updates automatically. There are also programs available that can convert your posts into an email newsletter format. That way, people can sign up to receive future posts just like signing up for any other e-newsletter. It’s a handy tool that can keep people coming back over and over again.

Anyway, you don’t need any term insurance just to start a business blog, these are my points though. However, at the end of the day, business blogging still depend on your preferences and your mindset about blogging.
