Web / Online marketing

Recently I just signup for an online marketing coaching session. It is not an easy task as I have jobs around me as well. I have yet to finish a prototype 37c review website.

Anyway, speaking of online marketing, it is totally different with offline marketing, which was my field before – Advertising. I was so into advertising few years ago, where I joined a few trainings and also working sleepless nights to win a student category award while in college. Well, it all seems to be useless now anyway :P

The good thing is that, I’ve made my step into online marketing first, combination of both offline and online marketing is what most advertising firms are working towards.

While I am in web field now, I still observing the advertising line in Malaysia. They still work quite slow in adapting website as their campaign. Below are the viral videos of Ray Ban which I remember so clearly all these year :)

These viral videos changed the consumers impressing toward TV commercial. When will you see a bunch of consumers searching and watching commercial, themselves?

When can I see something like this in Malaysia? Hmm…

Internet marketing and internet advertising

There’re a lot f talks about internet marketing or internet advertising. I’m an advertising student, I’ve seen a lot if not the whole classmates having a thick portfolio with print ads, TV commercial, radio script, environment ambient and design works. None of them have the idea about internet advertising yet. However, I’m sure they will pick it up quite easy and fast, because they are internet user.

Nowadays, only those traditional agencies still working on traditional media like television, radio and newspapers. International agencies are looking a way out of those. I’ll see if I can get myself some analysis after observing for sometimes now.

1, 24/7 advertisement like never before.
How can you tell your newspaper ads are gonna be viewed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week? Let’s make this simple, how many time you actually read newspaper? Morning only? After lunch a while? Internet give 24 hours advertisement and 7 days a week! Non-stop until you feel it’s time to take them down.

2, It’s about interactive.
Until today, still agencies looking for copywriter who can produce great copy. They never said in which media ;) You can’t let the consumers to touch your print ads, either do any traditional media. But in internet advertisement, you’re able to do so, this is not only depend on the copywriter along, it need a great idea to know how to interact with the consumer.

3, The power of search engine.
Thinking that your company web will not have any visitors? Thinking that your company site has no potential on bringing new customers? Think again! Clients are not stupid, they will did their research, and the easiest way for them to do research is online – Search engine. They might search for a good agency, they might look for a great similar produce, to know their target is to win on the field. If your company has the potential of helping them, the rest is just history.

That’s all I can think of at the moment. Let’s see if I can think about it some more and add it in sometimes later. I do believe internet advertisement will grow rapidly in the next few years. Hopefully my insight and gut feel is correct :P I’m working on lots of internet advertisement as my portfolio now though…
