Flip4Mac Flipping my Mac 360

25
Jan

If you’re wondering what is Flip4Mac, it’s some sort of codec for QuickTime to view AVI, WMV, MPEG, MPG and etc that view in Windows OS, if you’re a Mac user and you don’t know what is it, you’re probably came from venus, welcome to earth.
Flip4Mac loading
Recently with the latest update 2.2.0.49 (One quick question: Why the fuck does it need so many “dot” for a version?), Flip4Mac need to load instead of opening the video in a blink. Somehow, it’s not only slow, it slow down my whole fucking system! It even cause Finder to crash, not to mention other applications were affected, some go crash off, some goes slow down :? I wonder anything happen on my machine or some plugins cause my machine to run in this manner…

Thin On Apple

16
Jan

Well, well, well the rumour was true. Apple Inc. Came out a few thing that people (Consumer) has been looking forward for. Of course the storming on will be the thinest notebook - Macbook Air.
Macbook Air
I don’t think spec is something to be proud off, there is no optical drive available for this machine, although people nowadays are using thumb drive or maybe a simple portable HDD, it doesn’t mean people don’t need it, instead this machine is like created to be the world’s first before anyone does, they just want to create something to be proud of first. With price tagging at USD 1,799, it’s really not something I can afford :P I rather take a tour to Branson Missouri than a little laptop, which I seldom take it out too.

2 Cent:
Brilliant idea on creating “Thin” when other’s are looking at “Small” ;)

Ubuntu On Transparency

22
Dec

After the release of Ubuntu 7.10, Ubuntu team announcing their next release Ubuntu 8.04, which I was quite surprise with the interface…
Ubuntu 8.04 interface
Everyone is jumping into this “transparency” boat now, Microsoft was first to release this full transparency interface, while Apple released some transparency interface years ago, and now the Mac OSX Leopard has more improvement on the transparency.

So, it’s the “transparency” age now? Or this is a need of consumer, so everyone should follow up and built something transparency? I’m still thinking about the graphic support though, Windows Vista require a high-end graphic card to support their interface, while Mac OSX Leopard need a mid-end graphic card, and how about Ubuntu? They was targeting those who are using a low-end machine… Does those transparency really low-ended? Let’s prepare Technomarine watch and wait until Ubuntu release the newer version.

Step By Step

Microsoft love step by step guide, and Apple love 2 steps guide. Which one I prefer? I prefer one that in *.zip file better :P Because I get to use it right away. Well, that is also most Mac applications did, “Drag and drop; You are done” as I called.
Step by step
Microsoft, one that scare a lot about piracy, also one that will do whatever it takes to cut down the piracy but never success on it  Anyway, I’ve just get my Macbook clean install Mac OSX 10.4.6, to test the heat problem, I know I’m stupid, I should have call this blog as a Macbook-heat-testing blog instead

Well, it doesn’t go well though, the heat is still the same staying at 50 degree celsius, which for me it’s consider the most average and the most cool it can get when turning and “multi” tasking the common thing like Microsoft Word, Safari, Messenger, iTunes and Quicktime.

Update Cause Trouble

18
Nov

Some people having trouble when updating Mac OSX, all this while I’ve been thinking, why the hell Apple update cause so many problem while Microsoft never had any problem on their update? Apple engineers aren’t that good in updating their software, but they are good in producing (From scratch) a software. Well, luck that I never had any problem on updating my Mac OSX :P Just update for a few times, from 10.4.6 to 10.4.8 (I LOVE this version a lot!) and now 10.4.11 (More and more heat).

Many people having problem with Macbook lines though, from YouTube and weblogs, but Mac sell this year raise so much that it became a myth for me. And my guess is, people buy Macbook for its design and performance, then they installed Windows on it. Why not? All I have to do is use Bootcamp and partition (More spaces) for Windows instead, and target the startup dick to Windows, so everytime I startup my Macbook, it will straight go to Windows, with some hard disk upgrade, I don’t need to worry about Mac OSX itself.
