Safari 4.0 Developer Preview

Apple has started seeding developers with an early version of Safari 4 (5526.11.2). The release comes amidst news of Apple’s plans for Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) which will focus on performance and quality.
Safari 4.0
In their press release for Snow Leopard, Apple revealed that Snow Leopard includes Safari “with the fastest implementation of JavaScript ever, increasing performance by 53 percent, making Web 2.0 applications feel more responsive.” Apple will reportedly accomplish this dramatic speedup with SquirrelFish technology which is currently under development for Webkit. Snow Leopard is due for release in “about a year”, though Safari 4 release could come much sooner and for existing operating systems. In fact, they are seeding versions specifically for Windows, Tiger and Leopard.

Apple’s focus on high performance JavaScript becomes obvious now that they have demoed the new web applications that come with MobileMe (Guided Tour). MobileMe provides web-applications for email, calendar and address book which were described as being as responsive as desktop-based applications.

One new feature found in Safari 4 is the ability to save webpages as stand alone “web applications” which launch much like regular applications. This replicates functionality found in Fluid, a Mac OS X Leopard application which creates these Site Specific Browsers.

Download YouTube using Safari

Sometimes it’s hard to download YouTube video, especially when Firefox 3 doesn’t run well on my Mac :? Been thinking around how to download the video beside using external web that give me the “get_video” file, there’s another way with Safari and only Safari.
Safari YouTube
Once you’re in YouTube on your favorite video, click on “Window -> Activity” there you’ll see bunch of link alike list, don’t need to read all of them, look for the biggest byte list. That’s the video file, double click it and it will open in a new window and then download started. However, it doesn’t give you the chance to rename/add .flv.

Firefox 3

Finally changed my browser, I’ve totally in love with Mozilla Firefox 3 now :P It’s just soooo smooth using Firefox 3 in my Mac even compare with Safari. Now, if you’re also a Mac user and you have a lot of bookmark, try open Safari for the first time, and click on the Bookmark button, I’m sure there will be some lagging on Safari, Firefox 3 don’t do that, which is one of the reason I’m in love with it.
Firefox 3 beta
I love the overall design of Firefox 3, it totally integrated Mac OSX design with it, although I’m with Tiger, the design of Firefox 3 are based on Leopard though, anyway, what I like is the icons

Look at that, not only this helps me on the overall feel of Firefox 3 and imagine myself on Leopard  , the address bar is just awesome! There are also web title built in together with web url when I’m type something. This could be the best intangible best wrinkle cream for me, I used to have this trouble looking for my history but cannot find what i browsed before. Now there is TITLE, freaking title on every history I’ve browsed.

So, let’s together make a world record for Firefox! All you have to do is get Firefox 3 during Download Day to help set the record for most software downloads in 24 hours! ;) Well, you can also download here!

Browsers Test

Browsers test
Browsers included, Internet Explorer 7, Safari ad Mozilla Firefox in Window Vista. This testing is unlike coffee makers test, this is the most recent update testing, included tha CSS3! Which Safari just gave the damn update! Whoa, guess like Apple still running on top of everybody eh? I really wish that Safari update can help the crashing problem that happen on me from time to time, whereas Safari 2 never crash on me since the very first time I used it until I update to Safari 3. Well, get your own copy of Safari today, not only it is the fastest (As in my experience) it is also one of the most advance browser, erm… Not really, it doesn’t support Java text editor applet until now, anyone got any idea why?

More Windows Application From Apple

I was looking for a AV chatting in between Windows and Apple, well, it’s because my girl friend are using Windows :( To get to look at each other, we’ll have to either use Windows together or Apple. I’ve been trying to use iChat (GTalk) to video conference with her but it doesn’t work :( Except to wait for the newer version of Mac:Messenger from Mactopia, which I presume it’s another long wait, this however makes me look into Apple application development.
Apple to Windows applications
First it was Apple QuickTime for Windows, but from my hearing, most people (Windows users)don’t like QuickTime, first, it works like a spam, turned on when Windows started without warning. Second, the resolution wasn’t as good as it promised (Which I don’t think so :P )

Second it was iTunes, with the combination of their iPod lines, iTunes was widely used by Windows users who owned an iPod  It was the hardwork of iPod though… It’s like TuitionWise student loans, without the tuition, there isn’t any loan, with loan there is interest to earn  Everything linked. Thirdly, happened recently, the Safari browser, the so-called fastest browser and crashed a lot on me :(

Now, when will iChat be available for Windows user? Better be fast before the newer version of MSN for Mac comes out and replace the opportunity of iChat to shine in Windows machine ;)
