Today I met up with a long lost friend in a mall, after a few casual conversation, he asked me if I am one of the “busily-poor group” of people. That mean, am I working too much and early too little to even enjoy my life. Though sometimes I need detox treatment after a few days rush of project, but it doesn’t make me a zombie after all. I still get my time and enjoy my life.

Speaking of which, I do have the “overly” working experience, and that is a real pain in the ass. Constipation tend to happen to me when I have things to rush on, or, haven’t finish a project when the deadline is near. Unless, I have everything settled down and ready for the deadline.

In my field, everything seems to be unpredictable. Well, to be honest, it was they who likes to work last minute and tend to think I could follow up with them.
I’ve lieterally tried thousand of detox treatment since my university life. But none seems to be too useful, beside a good amount of fruit.
Maybe I need to order my wife to get fruit for me from time to time on daily basis.
Client from hell, one of the top site for freelancers and some designers. They made jokes on it, and laugh it off.

Some people do think that, we are serving them who has no idea about web, and shouldn’t take their knowledge as a joke – Respect. I couldn’t agree more.
However, what I find interesting is that, those conversation actually an insight of clients. How they react to certain thing, like, money and time and etc.
I do find it useful. There was this one time, I worked on an industrial equipment factory, this client was nice, he gave me enough time to do my job, but he did, however, act smart. I ended up tutoring him for 2 days
But it was an experience nonetheless
While I was passing by the outdoor rugs on a local McDonald’s, a client called me. This client is different, he outsource all his web design business to me, which I charge per project and negotiated into a fixed price per projects for a certain services only. This is the biggest mistake I’ve ever made…
Hi, can you place all the entries on the web now, later on 2pm I’ll be meeting about the website.
I was like “What?“, I am still a freelance for this client, who thought I am very free and work day in and day out. Even called me at 10pm about a website, how ridiculous can this client be? Well, I am very find with his working hour though. I recall I am quite a tolerant person. However, when things getting worst, I became an outsourced Indian IT technician.
When agreement about the data input, it came only 5 pages, however, I work outside of my will to input 10 pages as he wishes. Thinking that this help building relationship, and ended up an Indian IT technician, which is also a mistake I made.
Going to compile whatever mistake I’ve made on the way until today and write an articles soon, hope people out there don’t get this mistake again
A man’s health can be judged by which he takes two at a time – pills or stairs
By Joan Welsh
It’s been a while I did not take a good 8 hours sleep. Normally only 6 hours, so I am a little bit out of control in my daily rest. I even start using acne scar creams and those vitamin supplements. The thing is, working as a freelance is bitch, seriously!

But I will not give up for the time I have and flexibility or working hour.
Well, overall I still love my job, I just don’t like the client. Currently my wife and I service all the client equally. I have the habit of not saying “no” while my wife has no problem saying “no” and firm. Now you wonder why “Behind every successful man is a woman” ?
Hopefully within this 2 years I can build a better career and has a better lifestyle than now
This question raised again after another client gave me a request to design a project according to InsuranceSpecialists.com. I always question the doubt behind the client’s “according“, since most of my clients like me to follow exactly their design afterward.
I am not condemning the client, it is just a question of my working ethic as well. Or perhaps I should apply how Microsoft has always applying “Customer behaviour” by their R&D department.
If you ask, I would say Microsoft never copy what Macintosh has, only that the users (we) are the one who looking for the specific features, and if the features are highly demanded, why not applying on the next release? It’s the consumers who are going to use and buy the products after all.
