Vista visual style
For some reason, I’m so in love with Vista style. I’ve been looking around for a theme that suitable for XP, which I don’t wanna change the OS because the speed and user friendliness that I’m so used to it. Most Vista theme require WindowBlinds or whatever software to make it work on XP.
However, I took some researhco nthe internet and I found the easiest way to do so, nothing fancy, no transparency, no icon changes and all that, all it change was the visual style, hope you understand that. I compile all the softwares and theme which only less than 600KB only. Download here.

This is the nearest look-alike I got
P/S: I DID NOT create any of those files. Someone did, and I don’t know who. Tell me if you know, so I credit them
Keeping PC, use 2 antivirus programs
First time writing about Antivirus, it’s feel rather weird after so long never use antivirus program
Anyway, I hooked up with downloads.com recently, new layout, more information, just nice! The first thing I did after getting my PC laptop home was to look for a good antivirus program, it was pre-installed with Kaspersky 2009, which I don’t like, because it slowing down the whole system like NOD32. I wanted to use back the old one, which I used all the time and has been good with me - AVG Free Edition 8.0. Besides, after thinking twice about all the malwares, viruses, trojans, spywares and all the like, I’m thinking about using 2 antivirus program to run side by side, make sure my system is really clean, so here are my use.
AVG Antivirus

Until now, it’s still the best for me. The ease of use and the simple user interface that I wanted. Schedule scan, though it stated that it run at the background, but the speed will be reduce rapidly and noticable. Somehow, in this version, they have this little thing called search shield, where it will scan all the link IP to make sure they are safe to browse, when you SEARCH. Though I don’t see any good on it, because Google will give warning when the site received complaint, Chrome will block it for me already. Well, it’s still an improvement, however, back to the point, AVG still serve right to me no matter what, so far.
Avast! Home Edition

Also a free program, though it’s a bit hassle to register my email in order to get rid of 60 days trial. This is one of the program that I’m gonna fall in love with. Though it has a few item to startup (Slow bootup to Window), but it seems like a nice one. One of the features I would look into is the VRDB or known as Virus Recovery Database. When a virus gets inside the computer and the files are infected. The aim is to help repair many infected files or return them exactly to their original state, like a system restore. Oh, did I mention about skinable program? This has got to be the first skinable antivirus program
Now that I have the top (Should be) antivirus program monitoring my computer, I can surf more freely
Well, I believe that it’s not so easy to get a virus this days. So no worries, everything gonna be alright.
Windows blackout my foot
There were rumor around the internet that Microsoft is going to bring an update that gonna “blackout” all the piracy Windows users. It’s been weeks and nothing much I found, nobody mentioned about the experience yet. So I guess it’s just something they claimed for fun?

Many people find it as a marketing strategy that used by the Microsoft in order to ask Windows users to upgrade to Windows Vista. Heh, sure Vista is still new and not much of piracy happen on it. Well, sure it is that Malaysia has too much piracy users, but how a “blackout” could make them change or even worse get a valid license? It’s weird though, because the CEO of Microsoft claimed that they’re gonna support Windows XP for another few more years, why rush anyway?
Anyway, anyone tried TinyXP? I heard that it’s only weight 55MB for the whole system to install. Even hackers also love feeding dietpills to the program
I’m sure A lot of people would love it, not only it’s small in size, Tiny XP can be installed on an old machine that has only 40MB or RAM!
